Social issues are complex and nuanced by nature. And sharing evidence and research in inspiring ways is an eternal challenge. At 05creative*, we use creative problem-solving to help your organisation frame challenging issues, eliminate complexity – and move people to action.

Get your campaign noticed and remembered

People have limited time and attention. That’s true of both policy-makers and the general public. So your communications must make an instant impact and leave a lasting impression. We’ll infuse your campaigns and initiatives with clarity and creativity, to bring communities together and gain the engagement you need.

Dynamic visualisation brings data to life and sparks interest. We worked on this series as part of a project centred around the future of migration in the UK.

No Royal Road

The No Royal Road report outlines a new approach to advocacy evaluation. It navigates the tension between wanting clear answers and the inherent uncertainties of change by embracing the natural pathways of transformation.

We worked with the authors to distil their core concepts into a compelling visual narrative, with bespoke illustrations to add authenticity. And we created hard print copies of the report – instead of sharing it as a flat, uninspiring PDF. A thoughtfully designed piece of print is always difficult to ignore. And it added a sense of touch and connection that electronic documents simply can’t provide.

We explored the idea of natural pathways visually, using the contours of various landscapes.

Make your research feel real and relatable

Personal stories can make issues more relatable to audiences and changemakers. We’ll help you humanise complex research findings to encourage engagement and support for your cause.

Amplify NI

Facilitated by The Young Foundation, the Amplify NI movement helped tackle inequality in communities across Northern Ireland. Our brief was to take months of complex research and written content and make it digestible to people outside the academic world.

We created a series of illustrated posters which brought to life the stories of people affected by inequality in Northern Ireland. These were displayed at a busy event, giving visibility and importance to both the stories and the people behind them. The result? Local communities felt heard and represented, while stakeholders and donors felt moved by real experiences – not just statistics and tables.

The visual identity we developed, meanwhile, allowed community leaders to create communications with a consistent and professional look – increasing trust and authenticity.

Odyssey Stories

Odyssey Stories aimed to spark everyday connections between people in public places. Led by two incredibly passionate founders – Alice Sachrajda and Alex Glennie – the project needed a visual presence that suitably captured their energy and enthusiasm for the cause.

We worked with the client to create illustrated posters and print materials for the pilot event at Oval station in London. The event – hosted and filmed as part of the BBC’s Crossing Divides season – showcased the personal stories of those living and working in the local community. Each storyteller got to see themselves and their story displayed proudly across station platforms, in an area that thousands of people pass through every day. We created a bespoke website to look after the stories once the event had passed.

Turn your supporters into advocates

By creating and sharing compelling, valuable resources, you can inspire your supporters to action – and help them become advocates for your cause.

Young Trustees Movement

We worked with the Young Trustees Movement to create The Conversation Cards: a purposeful, intuitive tool to help boards facilitate open discussion and action.

Campaign materials express the values of diverse boards, using the language of circuits and switches.

Women’s Budget Group

Led by The Women’s Budget Group, the organisations behind the #GE2017ForWomen campaign used their collective knowledge to illustrate how the general election would impact women. We created a microsite to present all the facts in one place, with a social sharing mechanism to help people share and express their support in a way that resonated with them.
